Nexus One on AT&T

March 17th, 2010

I finally have a reason to bring this blog back from the dead.

Today Google announced a version of the Nexus One that works on AT&T’s 3 G frequency. I would have a Nexus One long ago but I did not like the prospect of being stuck on edge all the time. oddly enough I heard this from a guy I was sitting next to in my business law class. This is not an excuse but I was happily waiting for the Dell mini 3i to come out on AT&T to switch phones so I wasn’t really paying attention to the smart phone landscape.

Anyways as soon as I heard the good news I immediately went to http://www.google.com/phone and bought one for 529 dollars plus tax. I am desperate to get away from my iPhone so I was willing to bite the bullet and get the Nexus one. In the battle for cell phone supremacy in the mind of the Ranting Jamaican it seems that Google is currently in the lead. We shall see if Google’s Nexus one can defeat the iPhone, I hope it does because I am getting REALLY tired of this iPhone thing.

That’s all for now folks. I’ll post more on this thing once I get it, it should be soon since Google seemingly gives everyone free Fedex overnight shipping.

RJ on Harry Reid Stupidity

January 11th, 2010

Man I get so frustrated with the “government” sometimes. As I sit here in the airport waiting for my flight back to Los Angeles I hear on the news that the senate majority leader said something stupid about Barack Obama being electable because he is light skinned and doesn’t have a “negro” dialect unless he wants one.

I should probably state that I too am African American, significantly darker than Barack Obama, and I also do not have a “negro” dialect, unless I want one. I heard this and thought, “BFD the man is speaking the truth in a very blunt way.” But of course next come the republicans comparing it to Trent Lott’s 2002 comments. And then on top of that they have the Cajones to say that Harry Reid should resign because Trent Lott was forced to resign.

As an African American, I must say that Trent Lott’s comments are much worse. Trent Lott basically said that he wished that in 1948 a president that would have made sure that I would be looking at “whites only” and “Colored People” signs was elected.  Oh yes, that is so comparable to a blunt statement of fact.

Gah I am so annoyed. Whatever as soon as I get home and start working on Omega Supreme’s new engine all of this frustration will melt away.

Hmmm….
